Major the Gourmet was launched in Vancouver in 1973 by Nicky Major. The one-woman-with-a-station wagon, which offered superior cooking skills and impeccable service to her clients, was an early success. By 1976, Major the Gourmet was established on West 4th Avenue. The business expanded, prospered and earned the well-deserved reputation as Vancouver's favourite and finest catering company.

By 1990, Major the Gourmet had outgrown it's 4th Avenue location. Catering services now incorporated full-scale event planning and consulting with clients on a complete range of services for catered events, both corporate and private. A move to her present location on Heather Street afforded Major more spacious accommodations, a custom-designed kitchen and the ability to open the popular MTG Cafe.

For over 38 years, Major the Gourmet has cultivated the industry with cutting edge innovations, with none surpassing its quality, presentation and level of service.
